The Concord-Diablo Rotary Club’s 2013 Rotarians at Work Day was a resounding success! The mission was to assist the Parkhaven Baptist Church with painting the building they are converting into a six-bedroom facility for young (11-18 year old) unwed mothers, and helping to build three planter boxes for a garden in back of the facility.
We started off the day really early (10AM) and got right to work! By the end of the day (2PM) the building had been painted and the planter boxes were complete. Members of our club were joined by members of the Carondelet Interact Club. Molly even recruited two willing volunteers, since she thought it would be nice not to have to make the long commute on a Saturday from Calaveras County.
With everyone on hand, we were able to get all the projects completed, and a great suntan too!
