Rotary Youth Exchange ~ Builds Peace One Young Person at a Time

Joe at the Ice Cream Social

The Rotary Youth Exchange program helps young people all over the world discover another culture, learn a new language, develop lifelong leadership skills, build lasting friendships with young and old alike becoming true global citizens. The Rotary Youth Exchange program are for students 15-19 years old and are sponsored by Rotary Clubs in more than 100 countries.

Our Rotary Club of Concord-Diablo was privileged to have Joe Shiozaki from Wakayama, Japan visit us for a week this summer. Joe was sponsored by the West Rotary Club in Wakayama, Japan.

Here are some great memories that we captured with Joe!

It literally took two villages from two different countries to make this a successful exchange. Thank you to the Koellermeier’s for opening up their home to Joe. Thank you to all the friends, family and fellow Rotarians for coming together and making this program a success. We are looking for to sending the Rotary Club of Concord – Diablo exchange student to Wakayama, Japan in 2019!
