As is our tradition on holidays we try to do a community service project and to mark Martin Luther King Day, we got 188 pounds of oranges.  Cody brought his girl friend Jennifer so we have a new name for the Helper group in the Picker Squadron.

This brings our total for 2014 to 528 pounds of fresh fruit gleaned for local food banks and pantry’s.  If you’re interested in being participating in these brief (generally 1 hour) community service projects, and helping to provide fresh fruit to those in our community who are less fortunate, please sign up for our gleaning list by sending an email to: gleaning@cdrotary.org  You do not need to be a Rotarian to join the list, and projects are appropriate for all ages and skill levels.  (If you have specific access needs, please email Edi Birsan [edI@edibirsan.com] prior to going out to a project.  He will be able to confirm accessability)
